Rock Rose Residence, currently under Construction, is situated in the mountainous suburbs of Limassol, Cyprus, offering unobstructed views to the mountains of Cyprus. It is located in a sloping plot where site constraints became design opportunities. To retain the natural terrain and ensure a light touch to the ground, hence minimizing excavation and backfilling works, the semi-basement is materialised with Reinforced Concrete walls. The rest of the structure is achieved with primarily timber except of localised areas where steel frames were employes to achieve the long span and openness vision of the design. Our structural strategy was crafted for each location carefully and with full respect to the architectural design but at the same time offer the most seamless fabrication process. Architecture and Structure in full balance, exactly as we like it! A structural BIM 3D model was developed by the formDP team for coordination and production of the structural drawings and connection details between and in benteen the three material system.
