Rock Rose Residence, currently under construction, is located in the mountainous suburbs of Limassol, Cyprus, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. Situated on a sloping plot, the site constraints were embraced as design opportunities. To preserve the natural terrain and minimize excavation and backfilling, the semi-basement is constructed with reinforced concrete walls.
The remainder of the structure is primarily timber, with steel frames employed in localized areas to achieve long spans and an open, airy design. The structural strategy was carefully tailored to each location, fully respecting the architectural vision while ensuring an efficient and seamless fabrication process.
Architecture and structure are in perfect balance, precisely as intended. A structural BIM 3D model was developed by the formDP team to coordinate and produce the structural drawings, including connection details across the three-material system.
