Limassol Student Housing

This state-of-the-art student residence is envisioned as a vibrant hub for learning, collaboration, and personal growth. The six-storey building accommodates 70 student rooms, four accessible rooms, and four independent apartments, complemented by a range of communal spaces that encourage interaction, study, and recreation. Carefully integrated bridges, green terraces, and balconies interconnect the building’s spaces, reinforcing a sense of community and fostering meaningful social engagement.

The structural system is designed in reinforced concrete, responding to both the architectural concept and Cyprus’s seismic requirements while aligning with local construction practices. Vertical loads are carried by reinforced concrete columns, cores, and slabs arranged on a 6.5 × 6.0 m structural grid, with a Vierendeel truss introduced where open ground-floor spaces are required. Lateral stability is provided through the combined action of reinforced concrete cores, shear walls, and rigid floor diaphragms. The foundation system comprises piles connected by a reinforced concrete raft and ground beams, enhancing overall seismic performance and structural resilience.
