An extension and refurbishment of an existing ground floor house from the 1990s. The existing structure is made of reinforced concrete and it consist of a slab spanning onto downstand beams supported by columns and/ or walls. The proposed development envisions the expansion of the ground floor house and the addition of the 1st floor. As it is an existing structure we spend time understanding the materiality and capacity of the existing structure and proposed a lightweight steel structure for the additions to minimize the impact on the existing structure.
